Galtispuoda Viewpoint

800 meters above sea level with a panoramic view. Parking at the top. Drive up the mountain! Galtispuoda is an easily accessible low mountain just outside the town of Arjeplog that reaches 800 meters above sea level. Here, you will find beautiful nature, and it’s easy to be impressed by the vast views over Arjeplog’s sparkling waters and majestic mountains. A must-visit for anyone coming to Arjeplog.

For most of the year, the road is open the whole way to the top. During winter, we recommend instead driving to the Galtis ski resort.

The inland archipelago you see from the mountaintop is full of prehistoric remains, up to 10,000 years old. This was a rich landscape for the Stone Age hunters, with abundant fish and game, and the traces of settlements are numerous on the narrow sandy ridges stretching into Lake Hornavan.
